Ha, Earl I'll keep you mind if I decide to sell the QA42A. I'd probably just want to get back out of it what I paid for it, which was decent enough deal considering it's overall condition. Of course the paint has a dusty kept in a barn loft for years patina to it, but it's really in remarkable...

Steve..yeah I may mount the QA42A and see how it works out..I was planning in replacing the auger bearings, maybe the gear box bearings and re-packing the gear box case with synthetic grease. The thrower truly has not seen hardly any use..The wear bar has barely any scratches in the paint, much...

Well....now I'm undecided about using the QA42A on my 126..It's not equipped with a creeper gear set up and it's very doubtful I'll be looking for a creeper gear box to install on it...Im pretty sure I won't be buying/restoring a hydro drive machine either. I have the 42inch push plow and it...

Hey Harry...I agree that a properly working hydro drive would be be a better choice in terms of keeping the engine RPMs up, thus keeping the thrower speed at peak speed while controlling the ground speed of the tractor itself. My ExMark Lazer Z has spoiled me with the hydrodrive idea. But it...

Hey thanks Jason and everyone else...I think the spacers are the items needed..I've looked at it several times and at as many photos that I could get to turn up on Google images..The spacers must be the "kit". I presume the top links will pivot enough to turn inward and fasten at the top to...

Hey guys..I got a question about mounting the QA42A on to a 126, which of course is a narrow frame machine..The set up manual made mention of an adaptor package being necessary to operate the thrower with machines with serial number 400.000 and below. What is this adaptor? I was under...

Hey thanks Charlie...Earl Ford...Super thing if you could document your work on your QA42A...I think I have the basic idea in detail of how to go about changing out the auger bearings, but seeing how it's done is priceless..My QA42A has not ever seen much use at all..I'm not sure how old it is...

Hey guys..Do any of you happen to know the size of the rear tire valve stem hole? I have a new pair of 23x10.5x12 turfs mounted with 2 link chains, loaded with inner tubes which are filled with -20 windshield washer fluid. One of tires has gone down, due to the metal valve stem pulling away...

Great Gazookies the 126 is ALIVE again and it plowed snow for the first time here on my place! I began with replacing the sparkplug..No spark. I replaced the sparkplug wire...No spark. Checked for voltage from main harness feed to + side of coil. Meter read 12.7 volts. Took the...

Thanks Harry B...The NAPA Premium Coil does have an internal resister.. They vary from 3.8 to 4.3 ohms according to the manufactures build specs..I measured mine with a Fluke Multi-meter and came up with the 4.2ohms reading at the Napa parts counter.. Looking forward to getting the old girl...

Hey Guys...My wife is going to pick up a couple of new spark plugs, a new Kohler condenser (2nd new one) and a new Kohler ignition coil. I'm going to swap out the spark plug, install the new Kohler sparkplug wire first and see it it will fire up. If not, I'm pulling the points cover off, and...

Hey thanks Frank and Harry.. I expect I will be pulling the points cover off and give the new points a blast of parts cleaner spray..Might have gotten damp or something..Being brand new Kohler points, I'd wonder if they had already gotten dirty..Dunno. Gonnhave a look though...I have a new spark...

Aggravated beyond aggravated...As a few of you know..I recently went through the process of getting my 126 Cub Cadet back into running condition after it sat for around 4 years without being ran at all.. All the usual work required to the fuel, and ignition systems were done and the result was...
