Boy, why is it that when I try to help somebody out on this forum I end up getting my freakin' head bit off. That crap is getting real old. Hey, I wasn't trying to start a big debate about what is right or wrong...I thought the forum was a place to share experiences? I had a 105 Cub Cadet...

Im pretty sure I had to polarize a brand new, never opened VR...or at least I did a year or so ago on a brand new one for a Cub Cadet from the local Cub dealer. It had the instructions right in the box on how to do it. Just throwing it out there...

Don T.- You know you need to polarize that VR to make it work, right?

Decided to sell my Cadet 282 hydro. This tractor runs great and does not smoke. I finally got the hydro pump replaced with a good used unit from the help of a forum member. The tractor is CLEAN. Its one of the cleanest Cadets I have run into. I believe the cooling fan for the pump is in decent...

Selling a decent CW-36 thrower for models 70, 100, 71, 102, 122, 123. I had it on a 147 2 years ago. Good gearbox, auger and chute are in decent shape. Needs some minor work to make it reliable. Needs a lift rod and chute handle. Still has outer chain guard. $125, picked up near Springville IA...

Looking for a nice Johnson loader/other brand loader to use on a NF or WF Cub Cadet. Please email with a reasonable price and location. I'm located near Central City IA, and have Cub tractors/parts I may trade. Thank you!

Don, Doug is right...take it off the SG and then try testing for continuity.

Don- Why don't you do a simple continuity test with a volt meter to find the wire that runs from the F terminal on the SG to the VR??? Then that wire goes on the F terminal on the VR.

As far as spark plugs go... Some days around my place...it's whatever will make the darn Cub run!

Matt, I have been runing 216's in some of my tractors for quite a while with no issues. Like you said, must have had a bad set of plugs. Every manufacturer releases bad plugs. I've had bad Autolites and Champions. I personally don't think they make spark plugs as good as they used to be.

That is also a great idea. Thank you for that.

Allen, no, Im sorry for the misinterpretation. I am still running the belt crossed. Jeff. thank you for the information. I can get the Cub/generator as close as 5 feet to my refrigerator if need be, so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue. Thanks to all for the suggestions so far!

Ok, thank you Allen. I figured that was the case but I thought I would question it first. I did run it a short while yesterday to charge up my cordless drill battery with no issues, so it looks like it will work so far. The real test will come when there is no power and a fridge full of food!

The only reason that it is spinning in that direction is due to the original engine rotating this way. Allen may have a good idea to try and I may do so before it is all said and done. I would like to be able to quickly disconnect the generator. Jeremiah brings up a good method with a spring...

Well, I guess I'm lucky then. It has ran for more than five minutes with that belt.... A plate is a good idea and could be incorporated pretty easily. Thank you for the suggestion!
