JD - hmmm, I don't think those are mis-spellings as you're implying. Those correctly spelled words are known as "lingo". Our members are in one big country (actually one big world) and we have all sorts of lingos to understand. That's part of why I suggested a Glossary in the FAQs, or maybe...

Yup, I'm sure you'll eventually get to the point the entire area where the gasket sits is bright and smooth, and then you'll be ready. And then when you reinstall I'd definitely use a new original Kohler gasket (some aftermarket have been known to fall almost immediately). Torque the head in...

    Close but no cigar yet.

Are you certain there is no spark at the plug?? Remove the spark wire from the plug. Wet your finger and hold the wire connector. Turn and hold key in starting position for a few seconds. Did you get a slight tingling?

Dang it - just runner-up! Who/what was the winner. You've sure got a nice machine there that goes back many years and looks like it operates extremely nice.

    Hello Everyone

Welcome Ben - your 1250 Quiet Line can be a very nice tractor when running and operating. Pics would be nice so we can see what you have, along with your rough location since you only show U.S. I think what David S was getting at is that your 1250 would have originally had a Kohler K-series...

Welcome Doug - 128 is a nice tough tractor and part of the first wide frame series (I call the 1x8/9 series or some call 1x8/1x9 series). I see you're in VA and we have a few members from there that post once in a while.

Lew - I looked again and it sure looks to me like it's the wrong direction. Dustin - we need to know which direction it's going. If you stand in front of the tractor you should see the basket pulley and S/G turning Counter Clock Wise (CCW).

Ooh, those all started in other industries/professions. I'm talking about ones coined on here. Maybe like BFH :errrr:

Dewey - I've sent you a couple PMs. If you haven't noticed, there is an envelope in the top right corner next to your name. Just click on it to see messages.

Stich - I think you're right. Dustin - it does appear your repaired S/G is rotating the wrong direction to start a Kohler K series engine. Suggest you verify as I described previously, and make sure you let us know. I'm sure we must have some guys on here that can address whether your S/G can...

Hahaha - what about some of the good acronyms? Pretty certain we got some good ones of those. No Glossary in the FAQs tho.

So Stich - I can't tell from the video. Is it turning the right or wrong direction? Dustin - forgot to mention about retorquing the head since you reinstalled it. You need to follow the sequence shown in the manual and don't over torque.

I can't follow your posts. 1st you say you shattered the coil then you post a video of attempting to start it. Ok, if you ordered the coil I hope it's the correct one. Now, you've got a known good coil on the 1250. Why not try using it to start the 108? And when you attempt starting it...

Well, I still say "What the...." I may be missing something but I never seen a fuse sticking out of a coil wire connector.

Ya, I knew that about the rectifier but I called it the V/R thingamajigy because Roland's fancy wiring diagram also called it a V/R. (James - just noticed your toes are exposed and you have a bag of tools hovering by. Might want to cover those darlings up to avoid pain and blackening damage...

Can't really help on the V/R thingamajigy. All I know is they either work or don't. As for the load resistor - never seen one on any Quiet Line. Really wondering what you got there for electrical set up.
