    New to my grandson

Ooh, I see you did find the tractor serial number and that it was built July '79. That makes it a late production unit in the Quiet Line series. You should have 1" front spindles instead of the earlier 3/4". The steering wheel should have the small triangular center cap with a silver IH...

    New to my grandson

Don - flip the PTO switch back and forth a few times. The switch is known to be a common failure item with a no start situation. And in your pic the brake pedal is not depressed. There is a safety switch that requires the pedal to be depressed before starting. Also, I saw your other post about...

    Blade install question

hehehe, glad you got it figured out. Did you draw a white outline on the floor so you know exactly where to lay down next time? :snacks:

James - yes we have seen inside them before, but the one we saw also had the big IH emblem above the yellow 600 and below the red 60 on the clock face. They probably don't work any better since they still have the Borg name on the bottom of the face, but they look just a little nicer on the...

    Blade install question

Oh come on Dust'n - all it takes is practice practice practice. Once you have it figured out it gets pretty easy. No modifications needed. I did notice you have the trip lock lever engaged. Make sure you put that in the released position or you may end up flying over the tractor.

    Geared Trans, Clutching

Marty - something sure sounds fishy with your order between Alan's and Carolina. Sure hope it works out for you.

    qa deck question

Ok Mike, I'd try it to but what are you doing about the alignment?

Ray - I think it might be CC (China Carports). :errrr:

    Narrow Frame Clutch Shimming

Yup, main spring is probably broken, and you may not be able to see it until removal. Never heard of anyway to shim up a broken one that would actually work. The broken ones I've seen are usually a few inches into the spring. I suppose the most inexpensive fix is finding a used spring, but...

    Geared Trans, Clutching

Hey Marty - you're ordering the wrong stuff at the wrong time. I do have a request - please don't order any toilet paper. I don't want them running short again. :errrr: Honestly, I don't know what it's gonna take to get all this supply chain issue stuff worked out except time. And please...

    qa deck question

Well Mike - I see your message has gotten several views but no responses so it may be no one has done what you're attempting or maybe they don't understand what you're doing. I am going to try to help. Your main question seems to be about the tensioner spring. My answer is "no" it's not as...

    New 108 is home.

Dust'n - have another suggestion for you. Once you get the replacement coil so that both your tractors run again, you could have your wife run the 1250 and you could drive the 108. Maybe she would ease off on the "only just one" and you could grow your herd a bit more. :pop:

Just about there. Needs just a little more. Try going in circles one direction then the other and very litely since I still see some straight lines. And use lighter grit paper if you didn't already.

Volunteer work at the cemetery this week

Hey David - Happy Birthday to ya, but I kinda don't believe your post. Based on everything thing I've seen from you over the last several years I really doubt you'll "take a break". More likely you'll be hard at it with the ole tool box

    New 108 is home.

Hey Dust'n - now that you moved on up to apprentice I'd like to see you go back and change that fuel line you put on the 108. I know you just wanted to try and get her run'n but I saw you used that clear plastic line stuff which I don't like. Even tho it's rated as fuel line that stuff might...

Ya, you're right. Only using my phone to look but I see a lot of straight lines. Don't know how you get those going in figure 8's. :scratchhead:

    New 108 is home.

If you're popping the clutch she'll certainly jump on ya. Otherwise I'm a hydro guy and the gearheads on here are really best to advise you, but it might just be rusty pressure plates from sitting and runn'n her around, shifting only when fully stopped ( no shifting on the fly), might bring her...

    New 108 is home.

Nope - I even watched the 2nd video where you seem to be out of gas and barely run. I STILL SEE A BLUE STRIPE on the hood decal. So I went back and looked at your very first pics of the 108. There seems to be something goin on with the colored stripe in the decal. It doesn't look green like...

    New 108 is home.

Geez Dustin - I watched the video but are you really sure it's running and you weren't just trying to fake us out by shaking your phone camera a little???? Also, are you sure that tractor is a 108? Pretty certain I saw a blue stripe on the hood decal in the video. That would make it a 14hp or...
