What the.... If you didn't have that pin thing sticking out the bottom of the brass connector it would probably pop right in.

Parts For Sale Quiet Line Headlight Assembly and Tail Lights (really hard to find)

So much discussion recently about Quiet Lines and Wide Frames (1x8/9 series) I dug out my stash. This is a nice original IH Cub Cadet "Quiet Line" series Head Light and Tail Light Assembly that fits the following IH Cub Cadet Garden Tractors: Models: 1650, 1450, 1250, 1200, 1000, 800 (and may...

Dustin - you gotta have it grounded when you test it. You can't just have it laying on a bench and touch the positive to the A terminal to see if it spins. Hopefully you're other one will work.

    No compression on 108

Ooh No Stich - now you had to go and send him a Kohler Bible. It doesn't even have a section for S/G's. Now I don't know what Dustin is gonna do. The Kohler Service Manual is a great tool but it's got so much additional info that doesn't apply to the IH CC spec'd engines. Next thing Dustin...

    No compression on 108

Yup, guess the PO didn't know what he was talking about. That piston goes round and round and round and the valves move up and down, up and down, up and down, so there's gotta be ole c-o-m-p-r-e-s-s-i-o-n-y. :errrr: Dustin - ok, we'll give you a little benefit since you now disclosed you're...

    Time for tear down

Hey Johnny - nice combination 123 with the hydraulic lift option. Don't see that often. Also noticed you're a fairly new member. The 123 is a full blown (and top of the line at it's time) IHCC Garden Tractor. It's not a Cadet lawn tractor so you should really post in the main Forum thread...

    No compression on 108

I see Dustin is still fooling around with the S/G in another one of his posts. Sure wish he'd tell us if the engine has any compression. And by the way, I need to make a correction to my post just above. I checked and see CC Specialties DOES HAVE the back end replacement caps for S/G's. What...

Dang, 1811Cub, they do look nice. Maybe ole Rusty Almond was different back when I tried. How long ago did you do the side panels?

    No compression on 108

Sure is!!! If you just throw it in the S*** Can it'll probably end up exploding. Why don't you just give it to an unfriendly neighbor and tell him to use it when his lawn mower won't start :errrr: What the -------. I thought removing the head won the vote!!!! Does this engine have compression...

That's sure not the way I remember the almond, but I do remember only trying it on a small part for comparison and then deciding it was to dark before eventually repainting with Ironguard. Generally they all look pretty nice when they are sitting by themselves. The real test comes when they...

    No compression on 108

Ray - that slight push pull of air is compression. If you ever spun one with a broken rod you would know the difference. Sometimes they turn so free they will keep on going after you release your hand. Far as I can tell Dustin hasn't told us anything yet except the PO saying it has no...

    Throttle confusion on K241/109

Yup, 3rd from the bottom of the Governor arm and 2nd from the top of the throttle cable arm.

Last time I tried ole Rusty Almond it was a lot darker than IH 935. Honestly, I tried a bunch of them over the years and found the Ironguard to really be the best in either the rattle cans or quarts. Always glossed up nice.

    Hydro to geared trans swap

Ooh, so that's what they are. I guess IH used them to but I can't find them in my glossary. One thing I do know is that when I go to church they forgive my synonyms :old:

    No compression on 108

Gol dern it, just remove the head and see if you have a stuck valve or whatever is going on. I really doubt it just sat for 15 years for no reason. And besides, Kohler recommends decarboning the head and piston ever 500 hours of use. Who knows if it was ever done. Replacing the head gasket...

Looks like a "black hole" to me. Who knows what's waiting for us out there in the galaxies far far away (or underneath a cylinder head) :feint:

1872 SGT NEW TO ME. JUST BOUGHT IT A MONTH AGO.

Hey 1811Cub - thanks for the info and pics of the Quiet Line and 82 series fender pans. Now I know they were the same. Now I wonder when the 1872 and 2072 came along in production. Were these right after the 82 series? And what others were made during their era? I'm assuming all their...

    Wind turbine struck by lightning

Dang it David - last time I was in Iowa, up in the northwest section on my way to Lake Okoboji, there sure were alot of these wind mills. Never thought of it at the time but flat land and tall structures don't mix well with lightn'n. (By the way, had alot of fun water skiing or attempting it...

    Hydro to geared trans swap

Hahahaha - Marty, you know me better than I know me :roflol: And I was just think'n I gotta start watching all those "Dateline" TV shows with my wife. I've seen alot of them where the wife knocks off the husband for insurance and real estate stuff. I suppose now one will pop up where she...
