    New old man posting

Good. I wish every internet vendor was as fast, fair, and reliable as Charlie at CCSpecialties. Glad you got it squared away. If you ever do have a problem, be sure to communicate with him, by email or phone.

    Help! 1450 straight died

Check the wire going from the coil to the points. I once had one get pinched and short out where it passes through from the coil side to the points side.

Another 147 question from a newbie

The springs clip onto the frame and hold that quick attach lever in place. Which, in turn, holds the mule drive for mower deck, tiller, etc.

    Decal info

Marianne - I searched for that name and Wallis tractor & found he had submitted photos of a couple Wallis tractors to YesterdaysTractors.com. It showes his name as Poncelet, from Goodhue, MN. I googled that name and city and found this: JOE PONCELET Phone: (651) 923-4074 201 Chester Ave...

    My 782

"...and it would start right up!" :roflol: I learned from Digger a few years back, that putting a wooden 4x4 under the lower arms gets it to just about the right position. When you get those top pickle forks barely onto the shoulder bolts, you can push on the front of the housing & it...

    1450 resto

Old thread, but I finally took Matt G's recommendation and got some LED headlights for my 782. Oh my, what a difference. The ammeter barely tics when I turn them on, and they are so much brighter than the old incandescents. Bright white (6000K) and 1280 lumens. Adds a whole new level of fun...

Where in North America is Jim, and what Cub Cadet items has he found there?

I moved the lift lever from the right side to the left on one of my 1450's, because I was accustomed to my 782, which has the lift lever on the left side. I believe there are two different styles of linkage, early and late versions. If I recall, mine is the early style. Just had to remove a...

    Gardens 2021

Looks great, David. I di Pressure cooker is best, but it can be done with just a standard boiler. (I use an old copper double boiler). Put the jars in, cover with cold water, bring to a good boil, continue the boil for a full three hours. Lift the jars out to cool & seal. That's how my...

    1650 starter

I second Digger's advice - he pointed me to that company several months ago when my 1650 starter was bad. Great price and quick delivery, (Thanks again, Digger!)

CAUTION ->High resolution versions of Prototype CC photos.

Congratulations, Marlin! I want you to know that reading your posts on this forum a few years back is what gave me the courage to finally open up my 15U last spring and replace the trunion seal (which had leaked since I bought my 782 from my Mom back in 2004. So, here's a long belated thank...

    Snowblowers

I just removed the four bolts holding the cover. Probably need a new gasket - I just made one from gasket material I bought at NAPA a few years ago. The 75/25 mix is thin enough to keep the gears coated, without having to pack in completely to the top. I just filled it as full as I could...

    I'm ready for the SNOWpocalipse!!

No, I'm 6'6", so my forearms don't affect it. I normally use the red one, as it's closest to me. The silver one, at the top of the wheel is mostly just for sentimental value. My Dad had it on there when it was still his tractor, before he died in 2004. It was actually on the old Allis...

    Snowblowers

I don't know about the 451, but for the front gearbox on my QA-42A I use Digger's recommended 75% grease and 25% 90 weight oil.

    I'm ready for the SNOWpocalipse!!

Running a little late this year, but I'm finally ready for whatever Mama Nature decides to throw this way!
