Cub Cadet qa42a soon to be qa42b snowthrower

I've never seen a shaft hold up after having the keyway wallowed out like yours was. I've seen hundreds of misfit keys. Our solution is always to replace the shaft. Good luck with it. You may want to budget for it in the future.

    149 Running terrible after overhaul

/\ Excellent thought. How is the fuel delivery? I had a plugged fuel strainer once that fooled me for a while. I think you said the tank is clean earlier, but it might not hurt to look again at the fuel exit from the tank.

    Brinkly-Hardy hitch manual

I think each implement will have its own manual, and will be attached and adjusted differently. Here is a link to the Brinly Hardy manuals that Kraig has scanned: Cub Cadet Specialties Manuals

Where in North America is Jim, and what Cub Cadet items has he found there?

I was going through some stuff, and found six PTO clutch ant-rattle springs, and a couple of spirol pins from my 126 days.

CATS Stray, Feral, Housebound, Declawed, and Otherwise

My bride found these chipmunk catnip pouches. Our cats get a bit wacky with them.

    Merry Christmas

Tony, I had (I say had because I no longer travel) an industrial customer on Lon Gisland where they were getting under voltage, and it was faulting our servo drives and their air compressor. They monitored it for a few days, and showed the power company, and got a new transformer. They also...

Easier to store is right! She’s all into downsizing right now, making me clear out many of my treasures. I can’t believe she got that for me.

Tire chain sizes - what will they fit

I thought there must be some kind of crimper for that. Thanks for the name. I could almost buy a set of 2-link chains for what they want for the pliers, but at least I know how it’s done now. Thank you both.

    149 Running terrible after overhaul

We have: coil wire, maybe we should add coil points plunger points gap (add points timing) carburetor All of the above can be done quicker than removing the engine to check timing again. Did you measure the valve clearances correctly? I misread one once and it ran great, but was terrible to...

    149 Running terrible after overhaul

Carb might have had something disturbed with the cleaning, and new parts. 1811’s trade-a-carb seems like a good idea.

    149 Running terrible after overhaul

You may be right about the timing, but if you’ve done these before, I doubt you would not have checked, and double-checked

New governor. Did you go through the governor adjustment in the manual?

    149 Running terrible after overhaul

Could it be a governor problem? With the balance gears removed, it may want to act differently.

Tire chain sizes - what will they fit

David, I think I have enough cross links to make my 4-link chains into 2-links, but I have never figured out how to open them, and then crimp them onto the tire chains. Does anyone know how this is done?

Jay, no. I have had to shift my focus to other things. I did learn that you do not want to put them in a drawer with desiccant in it...
