    My new (to me) 1811

Whatever the reason, it does turn easier. In fact, my wife mowed for a while this afternoon while I did the trimming with the Lawnboy and she didn't want to relinquish the seat when I finished!

    My new (to me) 1811

Thanks Charlie. It seems like the 1811 steers a lot easier than the 582. It's possible the front tires are low on the 582, but it is a big difference. Also seems to have a tighter turning radius. Am I just imagining this stuff?

    My new (to me) 1811

After buying my 582 a few years ago and finding this site a month or so later, I'd developed a "IH Cub Cadets are better than MTD/CC Cub Cadets" mentality. I recently had the opportunity to purchase an 1811 at a fair price and I've got to say that I'm real happy with this tractor. I snapped a...

Need your IH Cub Cadet or related equipment hauled somewhere ?

Anybody going to Plowday 13 that will be coming back through northern Indiana or into the Chicago area? I'm right off of I-94 at the IN-49 exit. I'm buying an 1811 w/44" deck mounted and a 50" deck loose from Brent Balk who is bringing these items to PD13. Thanks in advance to anyone who...

    Kodak easy share

Brendan, I've been very satisfied with my Z700 (4.0 MP). It's about a year old now and takes great pictures (well, as good as it can with me holding it). Not real power-hungry either. Although that might have something to do with the batteries I'm using - Maha Powerex 2500mAH NiMH...

    Favorite heavy equipment

Kraig, Thanks for the links about the 4023 move and the UPHS website. The company I work for has been installing fire protection and detection in the new Council Bluffs Unit 4 power plant for the last year and a half. I've driven by the park location several times on the highway when I've...

Where in the world am I?

Kraig, You and your wife only have us beat by one year! We just celebrated our 19th on 6/13 (about the time Terry was there). We didn't take bicycles, we rented a tandem on the island. As I recall, that was the catalyst for one of our first fights - I felt like I was the only one doing the...

Richard, From the numbers you posted, that sounds like a Briggs & Stratton engine. If you go to their website, you can download the parts breakdown and owner's manuals for their products.

Hey Jim, Nice looking 782 and QA42A you have there. I'd never thought about painting the thrower red but hmmmm... I like the way that looks. May do the same some day to mine. Thanks for sharing the pictures! Oh yeah, Happy New Year everyone! Kevin

Sony DRM (Digital Rights Management) - be careful out there!

Hmmm... should've looked at a map. Beloit is about as close to me in Indiana as it is to you! Had to look up anemometer to find out WTH it is. I knew it was some sort of weather thing.

Sony DRM (Digital Rights Management) - be careful out there!

O.K., I'll bite. Kraig, do you do PCB design for VOOM Technologies? I used to do PCB design for a company that made custom industrial controls. In fact, one of our customers was in Beloit, WI - Isn't that somewhere near your location? Their name was/is Vortron - they made commercial meat...

    Harvest time pictures

My family no longer actively farms our land any more, but we still enjoy watching the farmer who leases the land - and sometimes he gives rides too! Here is my Dad (on the right) and my daughter enjoying a ride as the corn was being picked. Mallory giggled everytime they went to the...

Expanding on Chuck Jackson's question- Given a 149 and a 1450 in similar condition and price, which is more desirable? Do you get any additional "creature comforts" with the slightly newer 1450? Also, whilst lurking I've learned of the 169 and 1650's increased gas consumption and...

Jeremy, If you are talking about the horizontally opposed B&S twins (not the v-twin), the 18hp has the same external dimensions as the 16hp. You can verify that for yourself by clicking here - http://www.smallenginewarehouse.com/images/drawings/422400.pdf and compare the dimensions given to...

Richard, What did you attach your sunshades to? It doesn't look like they attach to the fenders... If each tractor is different, I'm more interested in how you did the 782. Awfully dry here in northwest Indiana too. Got about a 5 minute thunderstorm last night, but that mostly ran off...
