I think I have an incurable disease

Okay, I'll spill the rest of the info on the tractor now. I have determined that it is a 1946 H. The loader was indeed built by New Idea, although I cannot remember what they called it. It's on the ID tag for the loader, so I'll have to have a closer look some time. The bucket trip mechanism...

I think I have an incurable disease

Well, at this point the plan for it is to leave it be cosmetically, it may be a future restoration project eventually. The loader has a tag on it, I think it was built by New Idea but I can't remember. Restoration plans and lichen jokes aside, she came home today and I'm almost ready to attempt...

I also got this hydrostatic hood, yeah the hinges are long gone but you can't beat free! I believe this may have come from a 127.

I think I have an incurable disease

Oh I definitely got the fever. Yellow, or red! I'm still looking for a 126, 127, or a 73 to complete my 1X6 1X7 series. But this is definitely on a whole new scale. I don't know too much on the history of the tractor. Obviously it's an H, I believe (If I read the serial number right, tag is...

I think I have an incurable disease

in short... this is coming home with me on Sunday! I think I have a disease and I don't think there's a cure for it :errrr:

My 106 needs some giddy up and go

How far back do you think the shaft is moving? Here's the driveline diagram from the manual: There really isn't much room for the shaft to move backwards. It should be right up against the transmission input shaft within the coupling. And the transmission input shaft shouldn't be able to move...

    What'll I do now!

I personally think, you should pull the transmission and remove the reduction drive, find the problem, and fix it the right way. But hey, that's just me, its your tractor, you do as you see fit.

    I need help

yeah, hit and miss engines are no joke when it comes to weight. We've loaded them and unloaded them from pickup truck beds, with the front end loader on a tractor! If you put them on some wheel they usually roll alright. As for boat motors, I've never really had all that much interest in them...

    I need help

A hit and miss is something on my someday list... there was a decently large one at the show where I bought the Maytag, $700 fully restored and fully functional; didn't seem like a bad deal since I've seen them go well over $1000, but I really just didn't have a way to get it home. As for a...

    I need help

I mentioned that I had hoped to find one someday in a thread you made about yours a while back, I didn't really expect to find one but I walked through the whole flea market at our annual show and there it was sitting at the end of someone's table of stuff. When I asked if it ran, and he said it...

    I need help

I assume you would mean that fuel adjustment? Its not missing, in the photos I took it was in the closed position so you can't see the point on top. It is there. What I think I'm missing is the proper grounding tab to shut the engine off, the only way to shut it off is ground it with a...

    I need help

It'll start right up in 1 or 2 kicks, 3 if I forget to open up the fuel mixture! It does run a bit fast so I'll definitely have to see if I can get it to run a bit slower. Someone had some fun with the custom exhaust system. I kinda wanna remove the whole thing and go for a single vertical...

    I need help

I did it again, I bought another engine. No, I didn't NEED it, but I've been looking for one for ages and this was probably my only chance for a while! And it already runs! This is a 1932 Maytag model 92. Gonna be fun to mess around with. Now I need to find a twin cylinder one to go with it...

    Postal delivery problems

In all seriousness, postal delivery here hasn't been too big a deal, granted our mailbox is out beside the road instead of up a long driveway. Most of our issues lie in whoever delivers the mail. She has a habit of digging trenches in front of people's mailboxes because she locks the wheels up...

    JD 214 ?

I have a John Deere 110, John Deere's variator design is not the best. Last spring I replaced both belts (that job itself was a pain) and despite having new belts it still doesn't work quite right. Engines a Kohler k181, runs great, transaxle works great too, only problem is the variator...

    I just can't help myself!

Gary, you are spot on with that. It's a cultivator, it was made by Simplicity in the late 50s. The owner of it actually owns 2 national reel mowers as well.

    I just can't help myself!

Hah! As soon as it gets home that old seat is getting replaced with a pan seat. I've been riding it around with an old shirt laying on the seat because its a little less uncomfortable! I think its missing the guard that goes around the belt that's attached to the engine. Possibly a guard...
