Pulled the hydro on my 125,now I have questions?

Thanks David for your reply,in fact thanks for the numerous times I've read here about others having a question or problem.I did separate the unit, thanks to Billy-O 's suggestion,I put the wheels back on as I realized this Old Man couldn't lift the unit.Yes the hub with the pin is wore,I've got...

Pulled the hydro on my 125,now I have questions?

I pulled the hydro to clean and inspect.Yes it needs a good degreasing. The valves are free,no leaks, should I do anything to them? The cooling fan is aluminum, no broken blades. But even tho it has two set screws holding it on,it unusually turns with some sort of friction connection.Explain that...

    Choke and throttle cables 🥶

I don't use my 125 in the winter so this past fall,I lubed with a motorcycle cable lube.I now about once a week,as I walk by in my garage to get my car,I work them.I have found that keeping them free is easier than getting them moving again or replacing if they break, thats just me.

    My K-301 A

I have a K-301 A,spec no.47138B,the tractor a 125 with serial 271,612 which makes it mfg. in Nov.1968.My friend is going thru the engine.I asked him to check the balance gears.I've heard good and bad about them.He stated no gears,in fact the block wasn't even threaded for installation. When...

    Mower Blade Nut Frozen

Thats kinda what I was trying to say,I maybe confused people by saying torque specs.I don't per se use a torque wrench,I just use what the size of the fastener demands.Every fastener and its end use has a window.

    Mower Blade Nut Frozen

    Yes,farmer tight,thats what I kinda meant.

    Mower Blade Nut Frozen

Yes ,the kano, put the deck upside down,in a spot where you walk by and conveniently can lube it often and try it.Eventially you'll get it,sounds like someone really reefed on it,on installation. That nut being tight to specs is very important, but over doing it is not at all good either.

    147 no go winter

Like Lewis said ,don't run it anymore. When the problem first came up,and you exhausted your investigations. You did well by going and asking for advice from the wealth of knowledge and experience on this site. When someone has a problem,we all learn a bit more.Good luck, just my .02 cents.
