OK, Mike, this isn't funny anymore. For what it's worth, I'd recheck the points. The Carter Carb settings are the same for the K321 and 341. Humor me and recheck the points setting? If we could get Wayne out of the Politics part of the Garage, maybe he has an idea. I think a bad head gasket...

Larry: You can flip it around until you put the connecting rod in! That dipper is fragile! Glad you're enjoying your rebuild.

Kind of glad to see that our house wasn't the only one to have sleeping sickness today. A highlight was seeing Jim Chabot mowing with his Original and newly re-done deck. Thanks to Facebook I could see from Northern Maine to Massachusetts. Don T. would've loved it!

Well, I guess Ol' Sam decided his 73 was too good looking for this crowd.

    Anybody with bad Arthritis?

Haven't. Will. Hate pills. What brand name did you try, how much in the container, and how many $? Good thread - you may be good for something no matter what Wayne says.

Not poking fun - no, no, no! I'm looking at overhauling a V-twin and have done just what you did - went to YouTube to see what I might be getting into. Found out it's a bench job, not an engine stand job. Thing is, that printed manual leads you through it step by step and you can mark where...

This is good, Larry, but, trust me, there's nothing like a printed service manual when you get serious about rebuilding one of these K's. An engine stand helps, too, one that lets you attach the block to where the S/G bolts on.

I've found that if I right-click on the little dot where there should be a picture I get a prompt that says "show picture".

Quinn, this has bugged me all day. I'm no expert, but something just feels wrong. I'm not going to doubt your measurements, I might doubt the zeroing in of your measurement machine. Does the connecting rod come anywhere near to fitting the crankpin?

You're right, Jeremiah! Hard to think of a V/R without thinking of Don. I think he fried a couple brand new ones using that bottom terminal for a ground. He was never afraid to admit a mistake and we all learned a lot from the ones he made.
