Keith S. It's said that them that can, does, and them that can't, teaches. I think you're in too deep to give up now. Mike's idea about disconnecting the drive shaft is a good one - that will isolate the engine from the trans. Trans fluid is topped off? (Someday I'll tell you about the time...

    How Cold Is IT?

Life in the Northern extremes. It's a way of life to have to deal with a short "summer" and always have winter on our minds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDqdVCmLFyk

WOW, Harry and Kraig! Those pics also back up my claim that IH decals are indestructible! (seats, not so much). (Boy, Harry, did you come back with a bang!)

    Cub Cadet XT3 GTX

Well, Quaig (I did that on purpose, in Don T's memory) it's the GSX - because it has the differential lock. Only attachment is the blower (unless we count the cab). For the foreseeable future it will remain a designated snowblower. Is there a way to change the title of this thread? P.S...

Believing that they all need a name, she will be called Barbara Jean - BJ for short. (Against Jeanne's better judgement

    Cub Cadet XT3 GTX

Age has caught up to me, as it has to a lot of the pre-1981 Cub Cadets. We sold Lucy, our 7275, back to the dealer that we got her from 17 years ago. She'd done her job and did it well, except for issues with the front 4WD axle/bearings. Then we got this (from the same dealer).

7532 loader backhoe persistent diesel problem. Anyone else?

Welcome, George! You may have started a "Great Diesel Fuel Debate". Is #1 what I know as Kerosene and #2 what comes out of the pump marked DIESEL at the gas station? Or: Is #2 what I know as fuel oil that goes in the furnace?

Bill K. (and Digger): With all due respect, I'm confused - both by Bill's question and Charlie's answer. Help me, here. Tell me that there's no connection between the governor and the top of the carb - that it's the throttle cable that Bill's wondering about. Now to Bill: Your profile shows...

Hmmm. Did I forget, or did I didn't know to start out with? I'm just up to the 82's, now. The Cyclops are newer. I don't even like their nickname. Of course, I don't like the sound of yogurt, either. BTW - what's the hole in the grille for? . . . and Dave, while I can still edit...

Justin: A diesel would have an exposed muffler coming out of the right side. It was a good question to ask, though.

Not broken. Just wondering why Harry didn't specify which S/G terminal to hook the + of the battery to.

Mike, I think you're overthinking this. About the only thing that scares me more than the fragility of the connecting rod dipper is that tab you're thinking of. It'll all come together - these old Kohlers aren't rocket science. I just hope that when she starts first flop that you're not too...
