    1979 Cadet 111 - runs but will not drive

    You were right! I had looked at the picture before but I flipped it when I was on my back working on it. Got it on right and it drive like a dream...all gears good and 3 is FAST! Just finished the 2014's first mow! Thank you for your help.

    Thanks for the welcome! GOOD NEWS! I put a stronger spring (more tension) on the pulley arm and was able to get her to move, but very strange. Reverse goes slow forward, 1,2,and 3 all go reverse??? More tension needed? I'm thinking its the transaxle...could low/no fluid cause this? Or might...

    Just brought my late granddad's cadet 111 home the other day and it fired right up...I know it has not been out of that shed since 1998! Love IH! So she runs and I'm going to give her a nice overhaul however she will not drive. The blades come on but nothing forward or backward. I did...
