Digger/Wayne, Thanks for the suggestions. I don't think there is enough surface area exposed on the heads for a good grip to back these out. An open end wrench would slip and not too sure about a ratchet (maybe a thin wall); these things are really tight. Ummmm, RH threads yes? Should they be...

My 169 hydro valves are stuck down and I want to pull them out and clean them. They are very tight and I dont want to round off the head. Whats the best tool to get these things out? And would it be best to just replace them with auto valves and not have to buy the missing release lever and...

Thanks to all for the 169 hydro advice. I will order parts from our sponsors. I'll also keep my eye out for parts tractors. What others share the same hydro parts as the 169? I see a 1650 on CL for parts, but I don't know what I really need - and Father's Day is June 18th!

Digger, looks like they are manual. Should replacing these parts be an immediate concern? What must I be careful to avoid until I correct this? Thanks.

Howdy all, my 169 has a hole for a relief valve lever, but nothing is attached. Not sure if I have manual or auto valves, how can I tell? I just read Digger's response to Don Trend a few days ago and it has me thinking I may need to buy more parts. Thanks all!

I'm starting to see things now that aren't very clear on page 27 of TC-157. The parts don't line up well in the drawing. Should there be another pin in the bottom clevis hole? Thanks again.

Thanks for the support. I got the tractor from Ray Weaver at his new place in Schoeneck, PA, and have no history. Yep, the trunnion needs to be rebuilt, but there are no leaks - how do I clean this all up without using a 2 degree nozzle at 2250 psi? Here are some pictures of the hydro lift, not...

Hello all, got my first hydro CC, a 169 with no leaks! I'm new to hydros, but well versed in rebuilding the earlier CC's - I used to be hard core and wanted only those with metal pedestals. Where do I start poking around? I am changing the fluids: CIH Hy-Tran Ultraction is currently...

Digger, thanks for the advice. The CC42 rotor is out! I gotta read up getting the flange apart to replace the bearings and collar, do those three pins holding it together push out?
