Anyone have any photos of front tire comparisons? I want two different sets of 16x6.50-8 and like the V61's and the Firestone tri-ribs; I already have a set of the Carlisles, and they are kind of plain. But perhaps the V61's are too square, although they look great on Steve's tractor. A few...

Thanks Charlie, I'll pay attention to that. I also found a spring assist inside the frame with the 3 point lift, so this is perhaps more than just a nice parts tractor. I may have to change the oil and put in some fresh gas to see if I can get this started. This is how my last two CC's have come...

Howdy all, got a 124 garage find for $50. Any idea what this thing on the creeper is telling me? Something must have caused the PO to never want to use it and I'm not sure what to look for before I start pulling this apart. This part fits almost too perfect, but I've never seen one before.

Congratulations Wayne. BTW, the tractor shop down the street charges $48/hour. How many hours you got in that 128?

Thanks Charlie, does that mean they simply pull out? I'd try it but I dont want to mess them up it it doesn't work. I also wished I saved an earlier set of those Lutco bearings. They are expensive when you replace four.

Ugh, round zerks. Are these pressed in? Will they unscrew? Front axle from a 782. I want to sand blast and paint, maybe leave zerks in until after blasting. But gotta be replaced while I have everything apart. Thanks.

Thanks Ron, our posts crossed. Yep, got the larger 1" wheels all ready. Any idea what part number for the larger bearing? I have TC-157 for the 169 and it shows the 3/4" bearing IH-384881-R93 on page 93. The tire reference I made refers to post...

Thanks Kraig, I've had a set of wheels (for the larger bearings) waiting a long time for this upgrade. Now I have to go reread all the V61 versus tri-rib debates for the wider front wheels!

Quick question. I found a 782 axle for sale with 1" spindles. Will these spindles fit a 169 without any modification? I just want larger spindles for future planning. Thanks.

I am replacing the manual hydro relief valves in my 169 with self relief valves, and I see one of the sponsors sells Sauer Danfoss Relief shim kits. I am ordering new O-rings, do I need shims for the relief valves?

Mike/Matt, great comments. I will stay with the stock parts on the 122 clutch and get back to work on my 169 hydro and brake problems. Thanks for your input.

While my 169 hydro and brake fixes are on hold I started working on my 122 clutch. I use it to pull a lot of heavy trailers of firewood and kiddie barrel rides in festivals. I may send the clutch plates to Brian for resurfacing and get a new fiber disc. AND, I was thinking of upgrading the...

Thanks to all for the feedback about my hydro and brake problems. I uploaded a short (<1 minute) video at https://youtu.be/iswOzD6nbzQ. How bad of a problem do I have with loose parts and the trunnion?

Thanks David, there is a sleeve that goes over the bolt (caliper spacer) that sets the space between the calipers, also under the spring. The whole assembly is loose on the bracket and I'm thinking shims, but these parts aren't flimsy sheet metal and should fit better than this.

Replacing my 169 Ausco brakes with a good set of used H-H brakes. I put them together as tight as the caliper spacer will let me, but the whole assembly is loose, almost like I need shims between brackets (see spaces in photos). Should the assembly sit tight or does brake rod make up the...

    Wanted To Buy

Looking to buy a working hydro unit to take apart and put together to learn how they work before I take mine apart. Not sure what I need, I have a 169, so I need whatever all different parts are in front of the rear axle. I'm a GD guy and this is my first hydro. I live in Lebanon, PA (17042).

Marty, yes the Carlisle 23x8.50 tire, sorry about that. Also picked up used brakes tonight too, I replaced the covered Ausco with the H-H style. And got two used rims with outside valve holes, I was told the Firestone 12x7 wheel is not original. Sometimes being practical outweighs originality...

Marty, nice 128! I like how the tires don't extend too far out and I think the 10.5's may be too much, dunno. Is this style of rear cover/fender the same size for all up through the 169?

Carlisle Tru Powers it is! Miller has the 23x10.5x12s for $120 each plus $15 inner tubes - I'll be close to $300 after this. As long as I'm in the dog house, I may as well add another $200 for a pair of the Firestone 16x6.50x8 tri ribs with tubes! Kraig, are those 50lb John Deere weights? I...

Thanks to all for the hydro advice, I have them soaking in "stuff." I'll follow Wayne's advice and keep my eye out for those thin offset box wrenches as I need to build up my "thin" wrench collection. I'm ordering Carlisle Ag tires (23x8.50x12) for the 169 to put on a set of Firestone 12x7...
