To Rebuild or Just Leave As Is

Cody. I have removed a broken muffler or two...This what I would do that doesn't mean you should if you lack experience...No.1 leave the big hammer alone the last thing you want to do is break the engine casting...You can drill a 3/8 hole in remaining pipe and put a bolt thru it or use a small...

    Hello

Nat,I'v known a few that learned the hard way starting engines with drill. Those of us who grew up around hand crank tractors learned very early what not to do..

    Coolin

JD,I've had many people tell me their engine was running hot ,I always ask "how do you know?"99% answer "because I can smell it" Upon investigation it usually ends up being being an oil leak somewhere near a muffler or manifold, especially on engines with valve covers over muffler/exhaust pipe..

    Tractor won’t shut off

Tom, your coil wire comes directly from switch. If switch is working it can't run unless you have a shorted wire somehow feeding coil wire..

What should I do with this Cub Cadet?!

Monica, I've handled 2 family estates so understand your frustration. The machine is in very nice cond. for it's age (late '60s?).It is very restorable! Original seat, hubcaps, are a plus, mower deck looks good to restore...Might consider paying someone to get it running,it will make a big...

1330 only runs on gas poured down carb

Liam, you said it ran in start position until you went back to on...It's possible you have an ignition switch issue.Prove it by isolating the wire from switch to coil to see if you're getting 12 v in the "on" position at the coil....a jumper from pos. on batt to pos. on coil will do it after...

    mod 70 1963 my way

I spent quite a bit of pondering deciding what color scheme I really like .I have said before ,I am not fond of yellow( I think it reminds me of calf scours growing up) But I obviously appreciate the quality of old cubs! spring time reminder

Just started a refurb on a mod 70(63)...A small amount of grass clippings led me to no surprise. All of this was pulled from shroud cover with screwdriver and hooked wire...Literally wanted to make newbies aware and remind the experienced that spring time is coming but mice have had all winter to...
