Perkins 2cyl Diesel in 1250 frame

Ron,opinion only...vibration is a fact of all moving parts. My question is would you rather it was absorbed by rubber mounts or wearing out steel parts that will eventually loosen some? (rubber washer type shock mounts?)

    hydro linkage

Earl, most recently removed snap ring and trunion parts to repair.Very small snap ring, once you learn how to stand on your head with arms extended you should be able to do it...suggest you put something under machine to catch it in case it slips off pliers...

782 Quit while cutting the grass

The simplest test for a starter: Use jumper cable from pos.post to starter input post.Hook on starter post first then touch(not hook) batt. post.If starter is good it should try to crank.Check ground on batt.and ground to engine before assuming you have a short. remove starter: hook ground on...

need serious input on k17 kohler

update on k17...after removing all the water and changing oil...It smoked horrible but the longer it ran the better it was...Convinced the owner he had nothing to lose .He let it set and run at a fast idle for hours, just kept getting better....change oil again and it now runs smoke...

not looking but 2 fell into my lap

Update on 2182, deck completely redone, hums and mows nice but....once the pressure on clutch began a front seal decided to show me who really is in charge...Lots of parts have to come off to change that seal....grrrr (If it whirs and churns it wears out) Glad I haven't painted the whole...

Jacob,I'm assuming you mean for attachments. There are none on either of these machines. My 1650 has front outlets that are moved by handle on dash.

    Overhauling my Cub Cadet 72

Ben,I can testify those handles don't come out easy. It's easy to damage because they are quite thin as well..no pipe wrenches..Maybe heat and a strap wrench??

Pac, thanks for the input..I've been trying work this 1862 out in my head..sometimes thats a desperate attempt,no grill. no hood no side panels,no engine and almost 1000 hrs on machine.Certainly p.o. did not take good care of this machine.Every crevice is packed with grease, dirt and grass.Need...

not looking but 2 fell into my lap

Jay,so many things look identical hyd in particular.I will go over the 1862 very carefully."parting out" would be a good term.If the hyd are the same It would be slightly ignorant to scrap.I've been thru several parts lists and most say N/A on near everything.Funny you mention a hose,I just had...

not looking but 2 fell into my lap

The 1862 is not as good of a story. The m18 is all there and turns over but one piston seems not to move at all..pulled head and nope it doesn't .Comparing the two they appear to be almost the same, same hyds, same dash, even hydro looks the same .Anybody know more they would care to share??

not looking but 2 fell into my lap

Pac,the 2182 is coming along nicely.Half repainted, controls adjusted, new bearings coming for 60" deck(not 62).This is one awesome machine, weighs in at 1100 lbs.I've been driving it around to test everything and because it feels like quality! The kicker is I don't need a 60" deck..I've got some...

    Newbie

Pete, I have a 1650 that has front hyd ports and has a 4 way blade...The big issue from m.o. is finding a machine with front ports and blades of that nature are a bit difficult to locate as well. But,the east coast has a multitude of cubs so check ads often

not looking but 2 fell into my lap

A discussion led to the ownership of a 2182 and an 1862...Little did I know that the 2182 had a 3 cyl kubota engine..They have been outside for a few yrs so I thought I was buying parts and good looking tires plus both have full hyds...I got excited over the the 3 cyl so a few hrs and some luck...

    reusing an old lawn vacuum

The original mounted vac came with the 1650 I acquired 2 yrs ago.New coil on b&s engine and then found it only took a few minutes to fill so off it came ...Finally I figured a use for it ...By mounting it on wheels it became a blower that really pushes some air.Son-in-laws yard is quite large...
