    New Kid on the Block

Bob, good job on the lift(m.o) There are a huge number of suggestions but wet is the problem..I've read a great deal about pam cooking spray and those who use it say at the top it's cheap, silicon spray works but number 1 seems to be keeping a good paint job in chute..no miracle answers..

Dave, no pic,no mod?So hard to judge.but if it is like a lift cyl. on vehicle back gate they are available at most auto parts..Mine don't stay up when it's cold but do fine when warm...Replace them every couple yrs..

Rebuilding. No clue where to start

Ryan, good looking project.I've noticed many wires unhooked, that's probably where I would start.Follow digger's message and you will find a lot of answers, including wiring diagrams...good luck!!Looks just like my 70 that I just started a refurb on..

129 low power at full throttle

Eric, you did say "smoke from dipstick"..That's not a normal function. That could be very bad rings or as Matt said ,valve adjustment...Did you replace hoses? The old ones don't like alcohol fuel and break down severely inside.

    Why won't my tractor run??????

Ben,you started out saying it would flood immediately, you didn't say it was running but you did say you unhooked fuel and it still flooded. You said you checked and had spark, didn't say how...If stock it's a 10 hp kohler..I guess we don't know what you mean by flooded and can it flood if there is...

    Why won't my tractor run??????

Ben, if you left bottom of carb off while trying to start it will suck air, that's where it normally gets fuel from...empty carb, block fuel line or unhook, spray "carb. cleaner" in carb with choke open, close choke ,crank,it should fire ...which proves it's carb related..based on your other comments

Tractor For Sale Help: How much is my tractor worth?

JD, I had 1 for several yrs and really enjoyed that tractor. The shaft drive certainly paid off in less belt use and the Kohler engine ran super...A friend in need came by and I sold it to him..Shame on me ..Yours has 600 hrs, that engine should be good for a 1000 at least if serviced correctly.I...

    Why won't my tractor run??????

Ben,it's a reasonable guess the carb needs serious attention...So have you tried starting with carb drained and fuel line unhooked.(no fuel ,no flood) if everything else is ok it should start on carb cleaner for 15 to 30 seconds...The odds are very good you now have water in your fuel from...

    Sand Blasting setup

Rick,I too am going to an outside setup for the summer.I'm thinking a small canvas type garage to enclose work items but it will be seriously dusty inside. My thoughts go to compressor volume, will it push enough media to do a good job? There are several opinions on what is the best media among...
