If your voltage had been going lower and lower then yes, the ignition may have been providing a smaller and smaller spark at the plug. Now your voltage is back up and the ignition system can provide a greater spark making a better ignition of the fuel, making more power.

    CC 100 in metro KC

In my experience the snow in front of the plow weights down the plow and forces it into the ground / asphalt etc. and if the setup is correctly installed and adjusted the lift handle will be latched into the quadrant so no spring pressure will be acting on the blade. But if you allow your blade...

    Narrow Frame Clutch Shimming

Main Spring, I added a shim at the end closest the the read end/ transaxle. It sounds like your clutch is failing to me, When I took mine apart the original driveshaft had a series of dents/indentations from where the spring had been vibrating against it and it had a definite bend in it. So I...

    Narrow Frame Clutch Shimming

The teaser collapses more easily and smooths out the engagement of the clutch, makes it less jerky or grabby if that's a word..LOL but it goes into bind meaning it cannot collapse any more and the main spring applies the final full force. My tractor I suspected was slipping in 3rd, So I created...

There are a couple pics of a "73" in this thread and they match mine, that doesn't look like a 73 hood to me. https://www.ihcubcadet.com/threads/starting-a-rebuild-my-dad-never-got-to-start.10018/#post-238287

    Narrow Frame Clutch Shimming

I've made a "shim" that goes between the shoulder at the transmission end and the spring. 1/8" thickness. Gives that little bit more clamping force but doesn't overload the clutch release mechanism. I guess I've been lucky and have never seen the main spring broken but the Teaser spring always...

    any former truckers in here

I didn't go cross country, stayed in New England mostly, drove for Brinks for 5 years then went to work driving cement trucks. Only place I ever knew of that every truck had overweight stamps, Even the "lightest" truck could run over 100K pounds! All on 10 wheels. You better have your wits...

When sanding / polishing the gasket surface on the head, don't just go back and forth in a straight line. Make figure eights and zeros and also spin the head in your hand from time to time to try and prevent adding in a pattern and removing to much from any one spot. HTH

Did you verify gas is making it into the carb? Is the choke on full? Did you verify spark at the plug? Oh so many questions.. LOL

what are you trying to show us - looking into the cylinder, I don't think the piston is directly under the spark plug. I believe the plug sits between the valves.
