Really nice job on that cart!

    2284 value

I paid $2000 for mine in 2012 or so. It was close to new condition with 400 hours, a 60" Haban deck, a 45" snowblower and a 54" dozer blade. I'd say you're in the $700 range not running.

    Cleaning up a rotary table

I use a orbital sander with 400 grit paper on my table saw, planer, lathe, jointer and band saw. Then a coat of paste wax. It really helps the planer feed when you make the bed slippery...

    winter projects to stay busy

Thanks Gary! How far are you and Jay from each other, I know Michigan is sizeable... I don't think I've ever heard of chromic acid, looking forward to trying that on a pen project. It's a good place to start, the typical pen blank is 3/4 x 5 prior to sizing. The most common finish is turning...

I'd love to know the secret also. That is a beautiful example of curly maple.

Looking for 1863 plow blade lever/bar to lower and raise plow

This is what I was describing in my earlier post. The 451/551 thrower came with a setup similar to this.

Looking for 1863 plow blade lever/bar to lower and raise plow

You could probably use a piece of threaded rod and a couple of turnbuckles? That would give you some level of adjustment.

It looks like it really does the job!

Best front plow/blade option for my 2084?

Does the 2084 have the ports in the front? If not would any wideframe blade work or do you need the 54" width to clear the rear tires?

    Blower fitment

I understand. The Cyclops have always been my favorites also. They get a bad rap about the failure of the hood and side covers but the five I have owned never had any issues. And I don't baby them. My current 2284 is probably the best Cub I've ever owned.

New to site need advice on 1572 D

I agree, I went from an 1862, my first Cub with power steering to the 1872, my first Super and my first experience with the Haban accessories. I really liked the 60 deck, what a tank. I bought a 2284 about ten years ago and still have it.

Jay, I'm guessing the work on the mantle was challenging due to the size of the stock, it turned out great! I really like the picture above the mantle also, were those your dogs or is that a commercially available print?

    New Tractor recommendation's ?

You might reconsider the diesel options? I own two older diesels, an 87 Ford 1220 and an 87 Case 245. The Case is a 4x4 with Ag tires, the Ford has turf tires. I plow with the Case about 300 foot with a slight (10%?) grade. I've never had trouble starting either in the winter. I thought about a...

International everything…. even my trucks is what it is because of it.

I picked this 350 up a couple of years ago. It also has the 460, you can almost see the gas gauge move. And it has dual tanks. High beam switch on the floor, vent windows, vinyl interior, the good old days. When this came off the line, Reagan was president.
