    Motor oil

Unfortunately, that's the plan. 'We' used to make overkill robust products but todays mindset is to build strong enough to get passed the warrantee period.

    Slow Cranking K241

Most old engines use oil, the oil gets past the Rings, the Valve guides etc. Ate you sure it's cranking faster or is it just starting much faster, so, less crank time.

    Cold Start

You mentioned you recently installed a new battery, yet Listening to your video, your engine cranks slow after a few revolutions. I wonder if your cable from Solenoid to starter is comprised. A little cranking thru a bad wire creates heat which creates resistance. I'm not saying this is the...

    Cold Start

I've had issues with Kohler coils, they die very young. The Harley Davidson aftermarket has been holding tough for 10 years now. Same OHM specs as the Kohler. I found the 782 starts easier if you Crank it as you pull out the choke. Don't pull out the choke then crank away.

    Scam or not?

If it's CC parts, I don't recall his name mentioned here

    Motor oil

Cali. Like our current Administration, thinks money is endless. Where is 0.10 cents coming from? A few local service stations have oil burner heaters. They take it from some of us as they've been burned by idiots giving them engine oil with who knows what in it.. Water, antifreeze, etc...

    Motor oil

Govt regulations always means BIG$$$ what do they say? It's for your safety. Sure it is. My dad used to pour the oil over the fence posts. That fence is approx 50 years old. Still standing

1210 Electrical Issues, Kohler Command 12

If the new key switch is wired correctly and it was in the Run position when you cranked the motor, it should start. I've had new 'direct replacement' key switches be totally disconnected internally.

    Ground hornets

I think the active ingredient in Devon dust has changed. Used to be the affective Carbaryl. Changing to less affective Bifenthrin, Zetarypermenthrin. Not sure if the new stuff works on anything anymore. You know... Govt forcing companies to alter the way they run business. Communism

    K17 dipstick tube.

Thanks. I have black high heat permatex that I was going to use but thought I'd ask. I didn't see any o'ring on any engine look-up either but it could have been left off. OK, a little goop and push. Thanks

    K17 dipstick tube.

The dipstick tube, going into the block, how is it sealed?

Any pics of your Wheel Horse?

782, K17 1st Gen. Keeping the covers off.

My use with Tug is winter snow plowing and driving it half speed, basically load free. No super slow speed/ high RPM garden work where air circulation is critical. With that in mind, does this K17 really need all those covers? Is this Kohler engine in anything else where it is only cooled...

    Empty crankcase at 2 hours?

https://simpletractors.com/forums/topic/37741-kt17-front-seal/ Can someone show me what this valve breather looks like? I'm guessing when I rerouted my breather out of the air filter area that the additional length of hose pinched.. Created pressure and popped the seal. Can these crank seals...

    Dead mower

Nothing? No relay click? No headlights? Any voltage at the battery?

    Empty crankcase at 2 hours?

How is changing the crank seal on a K17? Out of nowhere mine is suddenly pouring out. Breather is clear, so no over crankpressure. Is there a common oil seal failure on these Kohler? I haven't roamed around to confirm crank seal buts it's not up top so...

    Gardens 2023

Wife does have a point. The fawns are cute. Chipmunks are cute too however after watching your labor go down the drain. Cute don't cut it. As far as my flower gardens go, when I see any deer, any age, I take out my pellet gun. Just a few pumps gives them a sting in the butt that they...

    Gardens 2023

I doubt it absorbs in. I reapply once a week. When the plants are young. I also think the Chives that are grown around the perimeter help.
