The biggest Cub Cadet garden tractor?

What I have seen so far from the posts - 1. International Cub Cadet manual says nothing about WOT? 2. An unknown deck manufacturer for an unknown GT or LT says WOT for best results for cutting grass...

The biggest Cub Cadet garden tractor?

I will go with the previous Bret McFarland post from the Kohler engine manual. Pay special attention to the third paragraph, last sentence. I may be misunderstanding this part "For continuous operation, at constant speed and load, limit output to 80% maximum BHP". My understanding of this...

The biggest Cub Cadet garden tractor?

I agree with your post and have always adjusted the throttle according to my needs at the moment. usually about 3/4 throttle or less, depending on how much snow or grass. I have never run WOT continuously, there is after all a governor to help with that too. A WOT burns more gas creating more...

    Wheel wwights

Using old rotors seems like a great idea. I might have to try that for myself.

    devilbiss spray gun.

HF gravity feed guns can be a PITA too. I bought one years ago and it didn't seem to paint right, pattern was not very adjustable I finally figured out that the fluid nozzle or air cap was not sealing. Once I got that figured out it seemed to work ok. I now use it strictly for primer. Reduction...

    devilbiss spray gun.

Those guns are probably very old, possibly 50+ yrs. The problem is that fluid needles and nozzles do wear out, making adjustment of spray pattern difficult or impossible. Devilbiss name has been around for a long time and I recognize that model. I still have a couple of old (but not as old as...

Not me and it's been difficult to resist pushing a button or two. Haha

    782D hydro pump paint color

Yes, Haha! Sorry I inadvertently hijacked your thread. I opened up a can of worms and I think one of the worms got angry. I won't respond to anymore comments about towing.

    782D hydro pump paint color

I have done that, more than once, with more than one hydrostatic IH CC. No known problems resulted.

    782D hydro pump paint color

Ok, we seem to be on the same side, your posts with YOUR multiple experiences would seem to indicate to me that you can tow these IH CC's within reason. You seemed to have towed your CC's because of something other than the pump "burned up". I'm beginning to be suspicious that in other...

Huh? Just asking for someone's personal experience on this.

    782D hydro pump paint color

"You will damage the pump if you move the incapacitated tractor faster than a walking speed and more than a few feet." I wish that someone that actually did this and damaged the pump would speak up and tell us the details, that and "burning up a pump" with paint on it or no fan. Under normal use...

    782D hydro pump paint color

My former brother in-laws family owned an IH dealership and he became the local expert on repairing and rebuilding CCs. He once told me that the only pump he ever had to replace was when someone had towed their CC down the road behind a truck. I have no idea how far or fast because this was...

    782D hydro pump paint color

I do have a vague recollection of replacing a bent driveshaft on that Cub, so you probably have a good point about the fan. As far as painting the pump and having a fan, I would guess there's a lot more to consider as far as heat is concerned. As was pointed out, more horsepower creates more...

    782D hydro pump paint color

Whenever someone brings up the subject of painting the finned pump, there's always someone who says it shouldn't be painted because it reduces the ability to cool. Many years ago, I painted my 123. I painted everything with Dupont Imron including the pump. So as anyone can imagine, with the...

    Low compression on K301

A backfire when trying to start can mean timing is off. Worn points can cause the timing to be off. How are you testing for good spark? A black carboned up spark plug can short out under compression even with "good" spark.

Great idea for an old CC with original wiring! I have to get one of those for my 149.

    original tires for #2 cart

Watch out for the Hirun brand made in china commonly sold at Amazon, Walmart etc.. I bought one of those for my cart, it lasted about a year. It cracked, bubbled, and went flat. It seemed to basically be an inner tube with tread. I then looked for a Carlisle brand, which to me seemed thicker and...
