Snow blower 36 compared to 42

Took a couple more closer up pictures the other day while replacing the battery.

I forgot about the sound aspect. Ty. Wonder how quiet you could make one with some self adhesive sound deadner on the inside of the hood and side panels...🤔

Tractor Wanted Wanted Cub 2072 and Yes I wreak of desperation

1862s and 1864s which are non supers also have power steering. Been wanting a super myself but not enough to make it a priority. Been a couple over the last year or two I wish I had at least looked at now. But it's a want and not a need. Probably should get 1 or 2 ready to sell. Then I...

    1650 "refresh"

I can't answer if it's better or not but presumably the manufacturer knew what they were doing. Myself I think they look funny and incomplete without all the panels they came with. Really important to make sure mouse nests ect cleaned out from under the engine tin, as I'm sure you know.

    1650 "refresh"

The idea is the flywheel fan draws it in from underneath and blows it up around the fins and with the help of the engine tin and hood and hood side panels is blown out the front.

    1650 "refresh"

It's suppose to help duct or direct the air around the cooling fins as it comes off the fly wheel fan. That's they way they were designed.

    Wheel weight ?

All thread with a nut on each side of the wheel slide weight on then a nut on the outside. Easy peasy.

    That's what he's talking about.

The next project, early National reel mower

Looks like a neat project. Too bad the reels are gone. Did they make any other attachments for them? Maybe you can find reels someday?

    Condolences on your wife's passing.

    Wide Frame Taillights

I dont see why it wouldn't work?

    149 Running terrible after overhaul

You need to try more than just old points. Condensor can do weird stuff too. If that ain't it it sounds like possibly slow timing to me at a wild guess. I mean if everything else checked out already.

Cub Cadet qa42a soon to be qa42b snowthrower

Ya I don't know why it would need to be press fit. You don't want it too loose as that caused the wallowed key way probably. But it shouldn't need to be press fit either. You want to fit the key and shaft to pulley so it just slips on. Start with no key in the shaft and see what your fit is. If...

    Cold Start

I have also been thinking that one of those jump packs could come handy lately.

    Battery Reconditioning?

Just bought a group 26 for the cyclops I keep at moms to clear the drive. $63 ish with tax. There were more expensive options. I don't think any of the lawn and garden batteries were priced at 20 to 30. Maybe 40 to 50 but I would have to look again? Maybe they were 35 and 45 there was a u1 and...

Snow blower 36 compared to 42

Here are a couple pictures of the 1862 wearing the QA 36 A. You can see the wings tho not real well. It now has it's side panels as well. Kinda rough around the edges obviously but serves its purpose for the time being. Have a new battery I have to put in it as soon as I have time. The old one...

Snow blower 36 compared to 42

I have a Qa36a on a 1862. You can get or make wings that bolt onto the edges which will make your thrower take approximately 42" I've only used it a few times as it's kept over at my mother's to clear her drive and we have only had a few big snows since it's been set up. But so far I'm actually...

    Parts washer fluid

I have used diesel for years. But today's seems to turn gummy after 6 months or so and now the pump is all gummed up. Got it free the first time but not this time. To be fair it was a cheap parts washer 20 plus years ago so it was probably about at the end of its life expectancy anyhow as far as...
