    Do Carburetors wear out?

Throttle shaft bores do wear out, but they can be bushed. Really the only killers to carb bodies are thread damage, heavy corrosion, or cracks. Also be aware that some of the mixture needles get ruined due to overzealous tightening. If you address the throttle shaft wear, ensure needle quality...

Cub Cadet 1000 - Noisy Clutch

    The cutoff is serial 612807.

    1862 Cub Cadet mower issues

While your issue appears to be carb related, it can also be heat related. Heat related performance issues can also be due to defective ignition coil(s)_. The coils on the Magnum twins are noted for heat failures. If it runs well cold to moderately warm, then runs like crap it's a good chance...

    Carb adjustment???

Two things. You will want to make sure the governor is adjusted properly, along with the throttle cable. When doing the mixture adjustment, make sure the engine is at operating temp, and adjust the high speed mixture screw first, then the idle mixture.

Cub Cadet 1000 - Noisy Clutch

There are tons of rebuild kits/parts out there. Try our board sponsors- but MTD still sells everything you need to fix it. It's probably a bad T/O bearing, but also check the crank end bronze bushing. Also. there are three small clutch disc anti-rattle springs that were there originally, but...

New, 78 years old, retired Electrical Engineer. I have a 1987 1810 Cub Cadet with no spark.

Make sure the ignition switch is not the cause. Unplug the 3 wire engine harness and see if the engine starts.

    Another rescue-1986 1210

I welded the cracks in the rear fender pan, then refinished it.

    Score!

The Starter/Gen is worth that as a core!

    Another rescue-1986 1210

I sanded the front clip, and repainted it, carefully masking around the mostly intact original textured hood decals. One new OEM hood script was added. The rear fender pan needs a couple of cracks welded and ground down before it gets refinished.

    My ninth- 1980 582

The presumably original throw-out bearing decided to take a dump, so out came the driveshaft/clutch. The clutch disc was practically brand new, so only a new OEM 703-0600 bearing/sleeve, and 732-3017 teaser spring were installed. Now, the clutch is quiet again. The only issue is that the bearing...

    1979 cub cadet

You could have an internal issue with the transaxle. First, disable the ignition system, Then remove the tunnel cover, press the clutch pedal and keep the pedal fully down, then spin the driveshaft by hand to make sure it spins freely. Then put it in gear and spin again. You should feel...

If engine clearances are not correct, the engine will be more difficult to turn over, as in being too tight. Also, is the ACR (Automatic Compression Release) working properly? Load test battery, check for high resistance wiring and components.

Sure beats the various DYNAMARKS my family always bought just because they were cheap. They have been scrapped long ago. Welcome, Scott.

    Picture of my Cub Cadets

The Kubota powered tractors use a robust iso-mount system, which is also what the radiator mounts to. Just about everything is different between the gas powered 782 setup and the Kubota powered tractors. The gas 3 cylinder Kubota is also quite thirsty.

    CUB CADET 1811 PTO problems

There is a reverse switch, mounted by the shifter lever on the dash tower. It is the most simple switch there could be, with external contacts. 725-3066/925-3066

    '85 782 carb # for original K17

On a Carter/Kohler fully adjustable carb, the mixture screw on the top is the main high speed mixture screw. The mixture screw angled on the side is for the idle. Make sure the high speed adjustment is performed before the idle, and the adjustment is done with the engine fully warm.
