Cub Cadet 1000 - Noisy Clutch

I removed the spring on my 582's clutch/driveshaft assembly with the use of a heavy duty bench vise. Removing the spring was quite easy, with the driveshaft firmly in the vise, I simply drove out the pin on the end of the spring. Installing the spring was also quite easy. With the driveshaft...

Help identifying model year of a 782

The KT17 Series I were installed at the factory in Chassis Serial Numbers below 726124. The KT17 Series II were installed at the factory in Chassis Serial Numbers above 726125.

    147 from the 70's

That's a new one, but definitely food for thought! Cheap in this case became very expensive!

    Cub Cadet 1730

The 1730 is a light duty lawn tractor, used solely for mowing grass. While they have a definite visual similarity to the 82 series garden tractors, very little is the same. The 1730 does have the 17HP flat head twin Kohler Magnum vertical shaft engine, which frankly is the best part of this...

what year is my 105 cub cadet ?

I can't stand zero turns, so I use one of the 9 I have set up for mowing duty, and then rotate them so they all get some use every few weeks.

Help identifying model year of a 782

    It's a 1984 782 built with red paint.

    Ag tires for XT3 GSX

I'm quite confident these machines can handle the additional load and stresses without worry.

    unfortunate 7530 owner

I believe the Mitsubishi MT3000 is a similar tractor. They too are hard to locate parts for especially considering they really aren't that old.

    Ag tires for XT3 GSX

A weight box adds weight to the axle bearing's load. Wheel weights and liquid filled tires are "unsprung" weight and adds no additional load on the bearings.

    Do Carburetors wear out?

I just had one of the plastic floats in the 1282's Chyna carb completely fill with fuel causing a severe flooding condition. Believe it or not, the old brass float from a Tecumseh 10hp snow king carb went right in and now it runs excellent again.

    Do Carburetors wear out?

If you can easily purchase it, buy the non-ethanol "Rec fuel".

    Ag tires for XT3 GSX

XT3 is no longer produced. Last offered last model year. A Cub dealer might still have one but it will be a 2022 or older.

Idles Rough a lower speeds, and with blades engaged acts as if it’s bogging down. Any suggestions

I'd be looking for a partially sheared flywheel key. That would drastically affect timing.

    hydro trans

That could be the case on a manual transaxle Cub. The 105 is a hydro. As stated above, look at the linkages.

    Carb adjustment???

You didn't necessarily alter the governor arm on side of the engine, but you did put an entirely new carb on the engine, and there is a threaded adjustment for the throttle link. Since it is quite easy, I would follow the Kohler procedure and verify the governor adjustment.

Parts Wanted Cub Cadet 56 Volt Battery Needed

I'm drawing the line at my battery operated weed eater, hedge trimmer, and leaf blower. I'm sticking with gasoline powered push mowers and Cub garden tractors for as long as I'm here..

    Do Carburetors wear out?

Most if not all the interest in the Chyna replacement carbs is centered around only one thing-cost. Most of them are cheaper than a proper rebuild kit from Kohler. Also, they do look good with all of the freshly plated parts. The problem with them lies around inconsistent machining quality and...

    Another rescue-1986 1210

The Cub yellow paint used here was genuine Cub Cadet sourced paint. It really went on well, dries quickly, and color sands/buffs out easily if needed.
