Those "Cub Cadet" branded tires were commonly seen on the later Cyclops, like 1994-97. I believe Goodyear made them but the sidewalls were emblazoned with the CC name. They are not the exact same tread pattern as the Goodyear branded tires normally seen on the 82 series.

    smokes

Worn/damaged oil control rings will still allow an engine to produce good compression pressure, but allow oil into the combustion chamber to be burned. Loose intake valve guides could also cause oil to get sucked into the chamber. Make sure the oil is fresh, and of proper viscosity too. Old...

    Cub prices

It depends. If you are referring to manual deck lift/manual trans Cubs, then yes, they aren't desired by the masses. A good 1811/782 all there and ready to mow still brings good money. 1810/1806's are soft. Still a good unit, just not for everybody.

David's machine is either an early CCC produced 582 OR IH produced. It is missing the patent decal from the frame if it's an IH 582.

Parts Wanted I need a electric clutch for a Cub Cadet model 1811

You are seeking a 6206-2RS double sealed ball bearing The pricing starts under $10 to as much as you are willing to spend depending on the quality of the bearing. I would not cut corners on it to save a couple of bucks.

    Scored a Cyclops!

E170G date code is May 17, 1990 G shift If one of the board sponsors can't help you, there's a guy parting a ton of Cubs in Washington, New Jersey that has at least 3 solid 44C decks and the mule drives.

That's a great project. That is one of the best Cyclops. The power steering and Magnum engine are pluses.

    Wheels & studs

When MTD/CCC introduced studs on the aluminum rears, it was a major improvement! Overall, MTD/CCC improved the 82 series with that, stronger axles, a steering column support bracket, true hour meter versus the maintenance minder, better steering box on the very late models, and better engine...

Best tires for traction, mowing on hills

As stated above, Ag style tires, properly inflated , with wheel weights/loaded tires/weight box will give you the advantage you need to conquer most inclines. But if/when traction is broken with them, you will damage the turf.
