    CCC 682 dealer model

The main detail is if the dash face has "INTERNATIONAL CUB CADET" casted on it. The early MTD units had these since they were using up IH parts stock.

    CCC 682 dealer model

The Series 1 had a low pressure oiling system without a cross drilled crank, and for units that were used on inclines, that meant lack of oiling and early demise. The Series 2 fixed that problem, and then most of the Magnums added a spin on oil filter.

    CCC 682 dealer model

Almost anything would be an improvement over the Series 1 KT17..

    CCC 682 dealer model

Should have had the KT17 Series 1 in it originally. It is an early MTD produced 1982 682 built in Brownsville TN with serial 702003. When MTD took over from IH, the serial numbers began at 700000. Should have the iron rear. It has the body colored lift handle and dash tower.

    Contaminated Hydraulic oil,

You may have to drain and refill a couple of times to get all of the moisture out. I had a Cub that had a milkshake for hydro fluid. I used cheap Tractor Supply fluid to flush it out, and once I saw consistent clean fluid, I changed filters to OEM, and went with genuine Hytran oil. It's been...

    Magnum engines

The specified carb for a 1990 1535 is KH-52-853-23 The specified carb for a same year 1861 is also KH-52-853-23.

I need a pic of 2284 carb linkage

I see a small governor linkage spring that is disconnected. I believe it goes in the hole under where the rod is connected on the governor arm.

    Kubota glow plug mod questions

Here is some of the modification info The glow plugs are the NGK Y-103V / 2031. The glow plug relay was originally designed for a 1983 6.9L Diesel Ford truck.

    Advice for first time buyer

Times two. These older machines, adjusted for age and wear, are still light years ahead of just about anything sold now, class for class. All of mine have been uber reliable after I have gone through them, using only Cub OEM parts to repair and refurbish.

    Dragged nother 1 in.

Well the good news is after a while, the sparking will eventually go away. Hopefully it isn't the magneto hitting the flywheel. I would investigate it to ensure that there will not be a catastrophic failure.

    CH18S. Kohler ?

Kohler Spec number 62599 originally came on a Cub 3184 and 3186 tractors. They had the vacuum PTO originally, hence why that is long gone.

    Kubota diesel starter recommendations

Since the starter key switches on the diesels have a lot of current running through them, I would replace it with an OEM Kubota switch. After I replaced the starter on my 782D with one of these gear reduction units, I would still have an intermittent no crank condition. I checked all grounds...

    82 Series Lift Handles

I bought them a couple of years ago, but they are now NLA. You might run across NOS, or a good used one, but the most sure thing is the plasti-dip.

Help identifying model year of a 782

MTD did get better by 1986. They did place a separate build date/plant/shift decal by the serial number tag on the frame.

So a friend sent me a text..

Good info. I had one recently that was sheared off, and I drilled it out and tapped it. I will see if I can get one just to have if I encounter this again.

Help identifying model year of a 782

The 144782399 is not the serial number. It is a Model number. Here is the breakdown: 144- 1984 model year 782- Tractor model 782 399- IH Red paint scheme The serial number would be the last six sequential of the lower number, which above is 737324. There should not be two tractors sharing the...

    Electronic ignition?

Use OEM Kohler parts and don't have to worry about it. In my experience with vintage cars, the Petronix stuff works ok for a while, then will have a sudden, mysterious failure, stranding the owner. I believe they use cheap components in their electronic parts.

obs 1990 Chevy 1500 rear yoke leak

Like on a front engine seal contacting the harmonic balancer, the rubber wears away the metal over time, creating a loose tolerance.
