    Empty crankcase at 2 hours?

Time for a new crank seal... You are soooooo lucky you didn't have another hour's worth of work to do. My 1450 spewed oil like crazy for a weekend until I got the new crank seal and replaced it. Not hard at all...Yours being vertical shaft, might be a little more involved.

    My first cub.

Welcome to the circus! You know, something that bugs me...the 1200 was manual gear, manual lift. The 1450 and 1650 were hydro with hydraulic lift standard. Why would they give the 1250 a manual lift?...You'd think that the 1250 would have been the same as the 1450 and 1650 just less of an...

    Gardens 2023

Oh boy...Cantaloupe. Mmmmmm.... I don't care, I'd tackle and take it from a kid's still quivering hands...that's how much I love me some good cantaloupe. :p

I was too busy doing projects and never saw this until now - this is sad news, I enjoyed Jim's posts and humor. Condolences from PA

New from IL with a 122

Yes, just like Pringles, you can't stop at just one... Scoring a 123 would be cool - both the same model just one's a standard trans, other would be hydro.

    PTO trouble

Yeah that's what it had. Never had an issue, just imagine he popped it while trying to restart the cub with the mower deck still engaged.

    My cheap Cub Cadet 1330

If you can fix it cheap and use it, go for it. But I wouldn't sink a lot of money in it.

    PTO trouble

Well it's the fuse, thanks guys... As you can see, it "looks" fine but I took the 20a fuse for the lights and swapped it in and it works 👍😎👍

New from IL with a 122

Welcome... Grew up using a 102 with a 12hp transplant...so basically what you got there. Fantastic machine. I remember running down weeds higher than the hood to mow. Also used it to tow empty hay wagons around. These old Cubs aren't as fast mowing grass as the new stuff but they make up for it...

I love my Quietline... 1450. 14 HP - 1450 or 16 HP - 1650... Would be really nice if it's dual hydraulics...👍😎👍 Shields can add a few minutes of disassembly but they're not hard to remove.

    New From NC

Don't know how close you are to Roaring River but a quick FB marketplace search turned up a decent priced 149 that might be something you would be interested in, especially with rear lift... Little TLC and help from this forum and you could have a nice worker...

    PTO trouble

Got 2 fuses, both "look" fine... turned the lights on, removed the top one, lights still on so that should be the one. I'll try a different fuse and see what happens...

    PTO trouble

Always wondered what that fuse was for 👍😎👍

    PTO trouble

Got a one for you guys...I'm at work, cub's at home but I thought I'd post quick to see if anyone's experienced this... My son was using the 1450 to mow Sunday afternoon, slowed down the cub to idle in order to move my little guy's trampoline but he didn't turn off the deck (I told him never...

    Coil and ignition points

I like the Bosche blues - bought 3 of them for my 1450, 1650 and 100... I also recommend the Transdenser II from Kirk - I got them for mine as well. If you get one, just be sure you hook it up correctly and double check it before you turn the ignition key, or "poof" (actually "puff" as in "lil...

Tractor For Sale For Sale: October 1964 International Harvester Cub Cadet 100 Lawn & Garden Tractor

It'd be my assumption that they thought they could create an extensive attachment line consisting of rear mounted items for homeowners. I bet had they been 15-20 years prior, this would have been huge. I'm assuming that by mid 60's and getting into the 70's, the need just wasn't there as more...

    Monkeying around in Shultzie's garage

What happens when you get it too hot is that you run the risk of austenitizing it, therefore when you quench it in oil you'll be at max hardness and without reheating it to the proper tempering temperature the material will be brittle and will shatter when it strikes something. The edge, being...
