    122 Trans question

You're right, and that creeper drive was full of water too. A few weeks ago at the time of the original post, I changed all the fluids and got everything sealed up. It all works as designed, and is doing just fine. I ended up using O'Reilly Universal Tractor Fluid which had the Hytran...

    Voltage Regulator

The pink wire (not red or whatever the diagram shows) is the ground if your regulator is not self-grounding. My regulator cleaned up, is self-grounding and is useable, so I did not connect that wire to anything. I multi-metered it and it does indeed go to the main ground bolt on the lower right...

    122 Trans question

I did pull the cover and order a gasket. There was literal mud in the bottom, and also in the troughs above the main diff bearings. Cleaned it all out and stuffed the bottom with paper towel while I wait for parts. I think it was submerged at some point...I drained THIRTEEN quarts of slop out of...

    Voltage Regulator

That's the one I have bookmarked.

    Voltage Regulator

I may have book marked this one too....I can't remember. My ignition switch is out right now, I tried to wire in a universal switch from O'reillys and it didn't work. I'll have to put the original one back in for charging system testing purposes.

    Voltage Regulator

I did see this one on that site. I book marked it. Whats confusing to me is that my harness has the pink Ground wire. But this R93 and the reg that's on it now seem to ground through the reg body. Does this matter?

    Voltage Regulator

My Standard unit actually says Made In USA. It cleaned up well...I might reuse it. There are some Cub branded ones on various Cub parts sites, but man are they expensive! After fixing my wiring issues, it might charge now. The Standard one has the Gen terminal on the underside, and...

    122 Trans question

Correct. It's a sealing varnish for motor windings. But, it also works good inside gearboxes and the lifter valleys of engine blocks to shed oil back to the sump area quickly. It's usually chemical proof though. We have a multi-purpose solvent at work I want to use. There's one parts...

    122 Trans question

I read a lot about this. And I mean A LOT. I came to the same conclusion. Anything is better than the foamy white slop I drained out of it....all THIRTEEN quarts. She's been draining for 2 days now. Since I get a discount at my local O'Really auto parts, I got a jug of their...

    Voltage Regulator

Morning, I'm going through the wiring on my 1965 122 and correcting/repairing some things. I think the regulator is shot. It's all dirty and corroded inside. It's a Standard Ignition version, but the part number is worn away. Anyone have a link or part number for a quality regulator? Found an...

    122 Trans question

Dex6 is fully synthetic, and that is all I know. I did flush it out yesterday, and left it overnight with the drain plug out. My coworker said he might have some Hytran lying around at home...."Leftover stash from the 80's.". Ok LOL

    122 Trans question

Good to know. Especially since the manual says you can also use SAE30. I also read on a pulling page that you can use ATF. I have an infinite quantity of Dex6 at work...I may use that just for flushing purposes.

    122 Trans question

Should be ok to flush out the trans then until I find Hytran??

    122 Trans question

Kinda figured that :D I need to find a Case store around here.

    122 Trans question

Good Morning, I was poking around my machine last night (1965 122) and decided to check the trans oil/fluid at the fill plug in the rear. I was greeted with a waterfall of white, foamy crap. Yup....safe to say it's been stored outside forever and the trans is full of water. I'm guessing...

    1965 Cub Cadet 122, Jerry B. Mid-Michigan

Good evening, submitting my Cub Cadet 122 here for registry. It's a 1965, with serial number appearing to be 135980. The Kohler K301 serial number is also 1965. Unit appears to be all original except the carb, and has lights and a creeper unit. She's a tank!!

    Hello from the Mitten

Hi everyone, my name is Jerry, and I'm an IHCC enthusiast from Michigan. And as of today, I'm the owner of a 1965 Cub Cadet 122! I was scanning this forum looking for serial number info and decided to join. I have lots of questions that I'll post eventually, but for now just saying "Hey!"
