Hi, I’m Tammy from South Range, WI and I have 1250 Cub Cadet lawn tractor/mower. I’m just trying to be my own mechanic and it’s kind of challenging. So came to the group to see what I can learn and probably buy (parts) lol.
Tammy, good to have you.
Google 'cub cadet 1250 owners manual pdf.' 71 pages of lotsa stuff to keep you interested. Ask questions, the techs love to help.
Cheers, Jack

Thanks, I do have a parts manual but I’m thinking I should get one for the Kohler motor. I’m currently working on the carb and was searching for the little bolts/screws that attach the air filter housing to the carb. That seems weird to have it directly attached to the carb, but that’s how it was when I took it apart…well touched it and fell apart, nothing was holding. The 3 bolts/screws weren’t the originals…it would have been nice if all 3 were at least the same. Well I have parts coming so fingers crossed

You're getting somewhere. Re-install carb and then tighten EVERY bolt on the engine and surrounding metalwork. Try to get at the motor mounts. Don't skip the head cylinder which is torqued to 30 ft/lbs. Use fresh gas. Start 'er up. Get past the noise, let it idle and then rev up, looking/listening for vibration, hesitation. If it starts and runs you are halfway home, if not, describe the failure....and the techs will respond.
Cheers, jack
