I have a cub cadet 128 with a 10 horse kohler with the generator/starter I picked up a 12 horse kohler engine I was going to put in the 128 with the wiring harness I’m not sure on the wiring do I use the harness that came with the 12 horse because the 128 has the regulator on it what do I do with that since the 12 horse has the starter

As I see it, you are asking what modifications do you need to accommodate a bendix starter K-301 into a starter/generator tractor. Is that right?

Yes and what do I do with the regulator wires and there is a wire going to the F terminal on the generator what do I do with that wire

You will need a wiring harness from a 1000/1200 to make that work. The charging system on the tractor the engine came from is totally different than the one you are putting it into.

It’s not hard. I’ve been running a 16hp from a 1650 on my 129 for 22 years now. I used a 169 muffler and the manual clutch from the 12 horse which eliminated a little bit of wiring. I don’t utilize a single safety switch so I won’t detail how I wired it up, but basic wiring knowledge and following a 1250 wire diagram can get you there.
