Bought a 1977 Cub Cadet 1200 new in 1978 with creeper auxiliary transmission, 23X10.50 - 12 oversize rear tires, 38A mower, implement helper spring. Next couple years added36' snow blower, weights and chains, electric light kit, No. 4 trailer and 42'' push blade. Snow blower was only used a few years on our first home's paved driveway. We were happy but like most made a move to a bigger place. The Cub chugged along plowing a much longer gravel driveway. And did a great job. But my life required much less solitude plowing snow, mowing and hauling stuff around the yard and much more time in a suit where my profession took me. And my wife, why do this! You have friends would plow for a few bucks and would be happy with the work. So, the Cub had winter vacations and has mowed till this summer. Problem, with the main transmission left me thinking where do we go? Transmissions can be fixed, I know. I am a participant in a small niche in the antique car hobby.

Purchased a new Cub Cadet XT2 - SLX50 from the original Cub's selling dealer. Fine mower but it's different.

With this forum, I hope to learn more about the Cubs - the ones my family and I bought long ago.
